Hello, I am Roberto Guerrero. I was born in the Dominican Republic; my mother was Doris Seeley, and my father Virgilio Guerrero. I am the youngest of ten children, and we were all born in the Dominican Republic. My mother was born in St. Croix, U.S Virgin Islands, and we were all U.S. citizens due to her birthplace. I first arrived to the U.S. in 1969. My first language was Spanish, so I had to learn to speak English. Looking back now it was really natural for me to learn this new language. I graduated from Martin L. King Jr. High School in New York City. I joined the U.S. Army in 1980, and after twenty-two years of service I retired. For the last ten years I’ve been working for the Veterans Administration.
I’ve been working on this book on and off for the last three to four years. I am just trying to share information that should help us all keep our life a little simpler. I may not be money rich the way most people measure success, but I’ve always been rich in life even when I had nothing. Being poor does not mean that you should be unhappy, unclean, and unhealthy. It’s all a state of mind, and it all depends on how you see the situation and yourself. The ups and downs of your life are supposed to mold you and help you build character. You are not supposed to give into the elements of drugs, alcohol and bad people in your life. You are supposed to let go of those detrimental things in your life and keep those things that are beneficial to you.
I hope this book helps shine the bright light of hope in your direction and helps you simplify your life. I mean you; let’s start there with you first!
